Season Greeting

Finally, this is the first day of my xmas holiday.

I'm gonna spend a little time with my boyfriend searching some birthday's present for my sisters (yes with 'S', because both of them are having birthday on the last week.. What makes it funnier is my boyfriend's sister is also on the last week).
Then i'm gonna go back to Bandung, celebrate the moment with my family and friends..
Oh gosh, i really like this season.

Of Bees and Mist - Erick Setiawan

The first thing that caught my eyes is the author's last name.

It's a rare occasion to see a book written by an Indonesian at Kinokuniya.

So I grabbed this bookfrom the shelves.

As soon as I began to read this, I just couldn't stop.

According to the book's cover the story is about:

"Three strong women. Two feuding families. A singular story of enchantment"

Let me be short, the three strong women are Meridia, the main character, Ravenna (Meridia's mother) and Eva (Meridia's mother-in-law).

The story began with Meridia's birth, followed by her cold childhood at 24th Monarch street, her journey to search the warmth of love from her husband's family at Orchard Road, and finally back to her house seeking her own inner peace.

What I really love about this story is the main conflict described in the book is really the problem that we could face on our daily life. The problem between husband and wife, parents and child and between in-laws. The magical thing makes the story more interesting.

November 2010

The last day of November.
I forgot to say "Happy birthday to me" :D
Last Saturday was my 28th birthday, and suddenly I felt very old.
Maybe because this is the first time in my life that my age number is bigger than my birthday date. So I was quite shock :P

Adieu, MPX Grande Boutique Cinema

Last Sunday, I heard a sad news.
MPX Grande Boutique Cinema was officially closed since Nov 2010.
How sad, because this is one of me and my bf favourite's places.
I really enjoy the retro style of this cinema, the cozy chair and of course the price is really affordable.
I've watched 6 movies at this cinema: Prince of Persia, Salt, knight and Day, Karate Kid, Shanghai and Sex n the City 2.
I won't forget Shanghai, that was the last movie that we watched at the cinema at the middle of October.
Just the two of us inside Studio 5 MPX Grande Boutique Cinema..very quiet and lonely..
So, adieu.. Rest in peace..

Dog's Thought

Did i mention that my shio is Dog?
Let me share you some of my daily thoughts while i'm daydreaming as a dog.
1.I like to wander and play around,but i prefer having you as my master.
So when i'm tired, i have a place to rest and someone to pet my head.
And believe me, i'll be a good and loyal guardian for you.
But if you treat me bad,sorry, i'm still a dog, i can't guarantee that i won't bite you. (4 July 2010)

October's Nightmare?

Aku tidak pernah menyukai bulan ini sejak aku mulai bekerja.
Sepertinya bulan oktober terakhir ketika aku merasa happy adalah tahun 2004. Itu juga hanya karena itu merupakan hari wisudaku. 9 Oktober 2004?

Sejak itu, setiap tahun, aku pasti terjebak dalam rutinitas persiapan JPP yang selalu membuat sakit kepala, setiap tahun.

Ada alasan lain juga mengapa aku tidak menyukai Oktober.. Entah mengapa, Oktober itu bulan yang rentan buat diriku untuk mengalami masalah percintaan... (duhhhh)...
Entah kadang awalnya *dengan puncaknya November ambruk*, atau kadang akhirnya *hancur-hancuran di bulan September*

Tapi, aku berharap, semoga hal itu tidak terjadi tahun ini.
Semoga kali ini pekerjaan dan percintaan tidak membuatku merasa bahwa Oktober merupakan bulan yang menakutkan :D

Ticket Project Part 2

Just want to update my ticket project..
Let me check first..hmm, sorcerer's apprentice as the last one in the previous blog.
- female agents: WW2 movie, Sophie Marceau starred at this movie.
-the expendables: i think Sylvester stallone is trying to make a movie like a-team,but imho this movie isn't as good as the a-team. A little bit corny.
-centurion:could be a nice epic story.do you get my point? 'could be' :p
-switch: sweet and funny. You don't need to think hard and you can still enjoy this movie
-resident evil-afterlife: not my favourite genre,but it's my bf's,so okay.actually,it's better than my expectation.

September Ceria

I took my Full Blooded Sea Swatch this morning.

No special intention, I just want to match my dress color with my watch.

Then suddenly I realized that the date number show : "1"

OMG, is it September 1st?

That's mean that I've already passed 2/3 of this year. What have I done?

So let's review a little bit from my 2010's Resolution.

- work life balance : better than the past 3 years

- keep healthy lifestyle, including eating healthy food and regular exercise : 3-4x/ week (but why am I gaining 5 kg since New Year?)

-clean my house regularly: you know me, this is really hard (chuckle)

-reduce impulse shopping : please somebody stop me from being an internet shopper addict

-not wasting time: this is my personal issue. But I think I've finally cleared up that issue and welcoming a new possibility :D

So.. I think my score is 70 of 100, hehehehe

But the best thing that I've got so far is...... finding myself someone who love me

Ticket Project

This is something silly actually, but it is fun to be done.

Me and my boyfriend, both of us like to watch movie.

And we've watched a loooooot of movies together.

So why don't we try collecting the tickets?

Of course, we've lost a lot of tickets, but better be late than never isn't it?

Just give me one year and I'll show you an enormous number of movie ticket :P

For the beginning, I've found Alice in Wonderland, Hachiko, Salt, and Sorcerer's Apprentice.

Below is the list of the movies that I couldn't find the tickets:

-3 idiots : great movie. this movie make me think again about myself being an engineer

-Shutter Island: don't try to watch this movie, except you want to get headache (our first date)

-Iron Man 2: too much publication, not as good as the first one

-Green Zone: nice action movie. good as it is.

-Knight and Day: is it a comedy or an action movie?

-Karate Kid: say it what you need to say ;)

-Inception: nice visual effect. But my question is why does Leo want to join in two movies with similar story? Shutter Island vs Inception? Is he crazy or not? Is he dreaming or not?

-Twilight- Eclipse: deep inside my heart, I'm still a teenage girl. But the rating is "Dewasa" = Adult not "Semua Umur"=All Age or "Remaja"= PG13

-A-team : a funny action movie

-Prince of Persia: I love the artistic view of this movie. Nice song by Alanis Morisette by the way.

-Robin Hood: a movie about the beginning of robin hood

-The Book of Eli: A journey to the west? I love the "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart" song by Al Green and Joss Stone

-My Name is Khan: another Hindi movie. Nice movie, but I still prefer 3 Idiots

South Vietnam 2009- day 1

Hi..

As my promise, this is the story about my trip to South Vietnam.

25th December 2009

Okay, this is my first trip outside Indonesia without paying the fiscal. (OMG, has it been so long since I went abroad?)

According to the latest tax regulation, Indonesian citizen with NPWP can go outside Indonesia without paying the fiscal.

We took Air Asia QZ7736 with Ho Chi Minh City as our destination.

The flight had been delayed for almost one hour, but I think it's okay because we are still full of spirit, hahaha...

The meal served on the plane is delivered for both my parents and sisters. Me? I have to watch them, because I can't order chicken sandwich due to my health and I'm not lucky enough to get tuna sandwich on board.

So here we are, landing at Tan Son Nhat Airport at nearly 9pm and a very hungry tourist.

We met our tour guide, Mr Hiep and our driver Mr Tuc from Aurora Travel.

We are surprised to see our car, because it's a Mercy Sprinter. Wow, nice car :D

On the journey to our hotel, we could see Saigon atmosphere on the night.

Oh yeah, it's Christmas, so it's a public holiday.

It's crowded on the road and the city is so beautiful with its Christmas light decoration.

After we checked in, Mr Hiep delivered us to Pho 2000 (pardon me, because I was very hungry at that time).

I was very surprised to see this Pho 2000.

In Jakarta, Pho 2000 is a nice restaurant in up class mall like Pondok Indah Mall. And guess what, Pho 2000 in Vietnam is only just like Warung Naripan in Bandung :)

But the food is delicious, and I don't have to worry about my diet because they have vegetarian menu.

I ordered vegetarian curry, and yes, it's very delicious.

After that, we've tried our first taxi trip in Vietnam.

Mr Hiep recommended us to use Vinasun or Mai Linh taxi.

So, we stopped a Vinasun Taxi (it's an Innova), and it's the time to use Tarzan language.

Even we've brought our hotel card, it's still hard to explain to the taxi driver that we want to go back to our hotel.

He brought us to a Liberty hotel! (lately, I learned that Metropole hotel is one of Liberty Hotel chain, so I understand why the taxi driver brought us there)

So, finally we arrived at our hotel, so it's the time to sleep. Tomorrow, the exciting journey will begin. :)
